Perseus and Medusa Part III: The Gorgon Medusa

The beautiful princess Medusa had many admirers.

The Goddess Athena was not one of them.

Athena decided to teach Medusa a lesson.

And so Athena cursed Medusa. Medusa's hair turned into snakes.

And her face became so horrible, it turned anyone who saw it to stone.

"Hey Joe, did you hear what happened to Medusa?"

"Oh no, there she is!"

Like Dylan says, everybody must get stoned.

This really interfered with poor Medusa's dating life.

Perseus and Medusa, Part II: King Polydectes

The King could not bear to kill his daughter. Directly.
So he put her on a boat. Cue Gilligan's Island theme.

They arrived in the land of King Polydectes.

Polydectes totally crushed on Danae.

But she said, "sorry, I have to care for my kid."
Heartbroken Polydectes came up with a diabolical plan.

"Hey Perseus, here's a sword. You know what would be awesome?
If you went to fight Medusa."

Perseus and Medusa, Part I: The Origin of Perseus

King Acrisius of Argos had a beautiful daughter named Danae.
Unfortunately the Oracle had a dire prediction.
"One day your grandson will kill you."
"Oh yeah? Well what if I keep Danae locked in a tower forever?
I won't *have* any grandkids now!"
But Zeus had other ideas. He arrived in a shower of light . . .
. . . and totally hooked up with Danae.
And she gave birth to a son named Perseus
